It was last week gay fest. Another time I wrote about this event, talking about gay rights. Now I think I will do it from a different perspective and I will also criticize them. But it is more about libertarianism (liberalism would not be the most appropriate term, it seems to be confusing).
Approaching the gay-lesbian movement, actually lesbian-gay, it seems wrong to me. More precisely, the French philosopher Pierre Bourdieu somehow has this opinion, which I share. Beyond the fact that the movement of people with a different sexual orientation discriminates against homosexual women, they are talked about much less, although their rights are the most violated, this style of posing the problem does nothing but maintain and strengthen the current state of affairs. That is, the patriarchal family, a discriminatory institution for women. Campaigning for access to marry according to all the norms of society, gays do nothing but ask for a slice of the patriarchal pie, to enjoy all its advantages. They want to be "men" too, to enjoy what other men enjoy, even if they have a different sexual orientation.
Another attitude, "more democratic" , which will continue the efforts of feminists, would be to modify and restructure the patriarchal family, replacing it with another institution, to which all adults can have access, regardless of gender and sexual orientation, who want to live together. Sure, its construction should be done on other bases.
Also, belonging to one sex or another to be emptied of social content, sex to become a detail for doctors, geneticists or police, what's the hair color like. Roles traditionally associated with one sex or another should disappear, because they mostly, tin the tradition, now biology. Sure, sex hormones play a role, but how the differences between individuals of the same sex regarding hormonal profiles, of qualities, it is very big, we must be careful that this aspect becomes the basis for discrimination.
Until the clothing traditionally associated with a certain gender should disappear, in the sense that a man who dresses in women's clothes should not be classified as gay or trans, like the heterosexual detective from Twin Peaks who walks around in women's clothes. Mika's reaction was interesting, the artist who chose to express himself in a unique way, and to the question if he is gay, he answered that it's his business who he sleeps with. We can express ourselves however we want, without the fence given by sex. What gays are criticized for is perhaps a certain behavioral uniformity, of concerns, the way of speaking, attitude that creates an avoidance reaction on the part of straight men, even if maybe they would like to adopt her. I understand gay men's need for belonging, but they want to belong to a select club, of men having sex with other men, not by people for whom gender is irrelevant.
Maybe the whole of this community will change. Philosophers could have a role in this regard. Even in our country there are philosophers who talk about androgyny, currently represented by Ilinca Bernea. Beyond certain strict limits, biology, the image related to one sex or another, of one sexual orientation or another, it should disappear. Although I like to drive, I see in space, but I have no verbal skills, unfortunately I'm not a lesbian:)
