Pro choice, pro life

I also wanted to write about Ida, about an article related to natural selection and its role in evolution, but human ignorance gives me work again. More specifically, human nature. Gerorge Tiller was killed on Sunday, one of the few doctors in the United States who performed abortions in the last trimester of pregnancy. The man was right at the church, and his wife was in the choir. The killer was apparently a fanatical anti-abortion fighter. The loss is very big because Tiller was one of the few doctors who offered such medical services in the whole country, and in his area, Kansas, being the only doctor of this kind.

We work, we don't think

Even though the data show that violence against clinics and doctors who perform abortions has decreased since the 90s, Tiller is not the first such victim. But the big problem is, as shown by a report broadcast on CNN, the way public opinion in the States shows, where there are more people pro life than pro choice. Where does the whole problem come from?? Out of ignorance, but also from corruption. If in the most liberal country in the world, where the state is separated from the church for good, that is, through the first amendment of the Constitution, (so for them the story with religion in our public schools would be impossible), where are the best faculties in the world, the most scientific inventions and discoveries, something like this happens, what we expected from much smaller houses? Unfortunately, things are not that simple. I think that if in Romania, the country that I don't know if this year still has any university in the top 500, a political party would come up with the idea of banning abortions, he would probably leave the political scene for good.

It seems, however, that people need something more than a quality training. Because in the case of an education in which some ideas and values are only imposed, unassimilated, the results can be compared to those of a training session. Better communication has made the crime rate drop a lot in this country, the values of political correctness are more circulated than ever, but the school has formidable competitors in terms of indoctrination. The Church appeals to emotions and the results of religious indoctrination are stronger than "indoctrination" through school, as far as scientific notions are concerned, as well as those related to morality. In rural America, but not only, the religious feeling is very strong, and the role of the church in people's lives as well. The authority of the church can compete with that of the secular school? Probably many times, not.

What could be done? Those who go to the States and Canada, I often come with the observation that "the people there are robots". What does this refer to?? To the fact that the people there only seem to have a predetermined behavior, regulated in the smallest details, totally uncreative, especially in the affective field. In a workaholic society, where even sleep is a luxury, we can expect people to have time to think? To assimilate some values, some ideas, you need time to chew them, possibly to discuss them with others. But when every minute is important, planned, this becomes very difficult. A study showing the correlation between available time and involvement in civic actions would be interesting, the assimilation of some civic values, morale, POLICY.

Time is essential for the manifestation of creativity. It is a common truth for anyone who studies cultural anthropology. It was considered the free time of farmers (although hunter-gatherers have more free time) led to the appearance of inventions and artistic creations. In an interview, a contemporary Romanian writer (I'm sorry I don't remember the name) he said that now it would not be possible to create literary works similar to those that appeared, for example, in Russia in the 19th century, precisely because a writer does not have as much time as back then. Maybe not by chance, in Turkey, Orhan Pamuk is not the only great writer who deserves the Nobel Prize, there would be some more 2-3 of the same level, at least that's what a Turkish language teacher told me. In Bucharest, Orhan Pamuk criticized the Turkish mentality, according to which "work is for accountants and accountants". It had something to do with the fact that in Turkey they took to the streets 1 million people a few years ago in support of secularism? And finally all the values of democracy, but also our European philosophy, where i come from? From Ancient Greece, country of gentleness. It could be said that human value is measured in the time invested in understanding the world and human nature?

Political and mass media prostitution, legally fought

Lack of time should concern politicians, but they are not concerned with easier and simpler things. In plus, unfortunately, democracy includes in its very existence certain germs of corruption. But they can also be fought through legislation. Politicians want votes, and for the votes of people who don't think and don't know much, I do prostitution. Although in the election campaign, Obama showed himself pro choice, now avoid a direct discussion about this issue. On the other hand, although raised in a communist environment, his father himself being a Kenyan communist leader, at the investiture he swore on the Bible. Politicians do this everywhere. They indulge in irrational statements for votes, unscientific, populist. But if a law would sanction them, maybe they would be less available for such behavior. If a politician were caught with an irrational statement, unscientific, only for votes, would have sanctioned the league, would think more before. It is against democracy? Not, as long as he is caught with an illegal or immoral act, he is sanctioned. And the irrational and unscientific statements, easy to notice, they can have very harmful effects on society, more harmful than having a mistress.

On the other hand, mass media, for advertising disguised as irrational and unscientific attitudes, with social implications, broadcast to the audience, should also be sanctioned. Science should not only be in laboratories, it must go down in society, to regulate things, when possible. When a scientific truth has an answer to a problem, this should immediately dethrone the answer given by tradition, possibly any regulation this time. Laws must be based on reason, on science, not superstitions. I come back with the idea that the concepts related to human rights should be revised in the light of the new discoveries.

Where did abortion become such a great sin?

It's hard to say. Probable, in the conditions of the crisis, many see in "killing babies" what they once saw in witches. But he would have witches much more at hand, which really brought the crisis, such as human greed, chasing money at any cost. Then the business that their country does with countries that have abominable regimes, such as those in the Middle East. How is it possible for a democratic country to have relations with countries where democracy and human rights do not exist? A propos, and the candidates for the European Parliament elections should have these issues on their agenda. The European Union has been criticized for economic relations with non-democratic countries. I think it is a greater sin to buy Chinese products, if you know that slavery is used for their manufacture, than having abortions or accepting this practice.

But the misogynistic attitude of the society that preferred to bring a black person to the white house than a woman could also be involved. Lack of empathy, which also requires a little imagination, which helps you put yourself in someone's shoes in a certain situation, it's her fault too. Empathy is essential for morality, but morality would also involve other functions of the brain (discussed in Civilization...). Morality is psychic force, imagination, memory, etc., and we cannot claim that all people have these qualities. That's how it's explained, besides manipulation, (easier for some precisely because of this ) why the ignorance and lack of empathy of the masses killed valuable people like Socrates, but not only and why so many are supporters of capital punishment.

Prolific followers think (I wonder how many of them are women?) how does a woman who is forced to give birth to an unwanted child feel?? This is what a woman feels, a woman's point of view: women have to have sex. Women have sex to have an orgasm, I have sex for pleasure. When nature gave them such a great gift, why not enjoy it, especially since it is also beneficial for health? Abortion is not a crime, but to forbid a woman to enjoy this gift of nature. That's it, women have sex for pleasure, not for reproduction, for those who didn't find out. Men are mostly of poor quality (patriarchal education contributing among other aspects, some biological, to this situation) you don't want children from them, you don't want long-term relationships or to tie yourself to them in any legal way. As a friend told me, Dana S., "It's hard to find one who behaves normally, not extraordinary, not good, with a girl". Then what do you do if you get pregnant?? You kill yourself? Not, abort. That's what women do, that's what he has to do. The world must understand that this is the situation. Children must be educated in this regard, to understand a woman's point of view. Or you already have 4 BOYS, you have no money, you don't have a job. what are you doing? You are doing the 5th? Quintus? Not, abort. This is the solution and no other. Abortion is not an option, it's a crisis solution. When you have appendicitis, you think what to do? Not, you operate. Simple. Otherwise, you get peritonitis and you no longer have access to other choices. So also in these situations, you operate. It's not good, it's not nice, but you have no choice.

An unwanted child equals life imprisonment. You would sentence someone to life in prison for having unprotected sex or worse, if his condom broke? Probably not, but we easily condemn a woman. Women have the right to life, they are not walking wombs whose only purpose is to give birth to fetuses. Their modesty that does not support their cause is also to blame.

Children are the natural consequence of a good relationship, although not in all cases. Some women, but also some men, they may not want offspring. It's their choice. But a sine qua non condition for a woman to want a child from a man is to have a very good relationship with him, if possible and sexual passion. If not, the planet is quite populated...
